This session almost didn’t happen—-twice. I was first supposed to take family photos for Jeff and Elisa’s family in August when we met for Josh’s senior photos. Unfortunately, their oldest child had been exposed to someone that had tested positive for COVID so we didn’t want to risk having the whole family gather for Josh’s senior photos at the Lakewood Heritage Center in August. We re-scheduled the extended family session for the end of September, but just as we were supposed to start, the skies opened up and it was raining. We waited it out for a few minutes and then thankfully we were able to make the session work (even though it was very cold and the rain was coming down here and there).
I had never been to McKay Lake before so it was fun to try out a new location. It was a good half way spot for us to meet since this family lives in Loveland and I am down in Littleton. Meeting at McKay Lake near Westminster and Broomfield was about a 45 minute drive for both of us. There was a patch of orange bushes that were so beautiful and amazing! I loved taking photos at this spot and might try it again sometime for my clients that live north.
